Overview

The NRPP supports Proteome Informatics as well as development of technologies for interaction maps, phosphoproteomics, quantitative proteomics, and organellar proteomics. A major portion of NRPP resources are directed towards development of algorithms and software for protein identification, interaction maps, analysis of post-translational modifications, and protein expression profiling. Significant efforts are also put into data standards for developing and testing proteomics algorithms and tools as well as software and databases for integrating proteomics data. The Proteome Commons, maintained by the NRPP, provides a number of file dissemination, data hosting, and project hosting services for the proteomics community. The NRPP also developed and maintains the open source tool for disseminating raw and annotated proteomics data, the DFS, which has a current capacity of 50 TB storage.
